Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer that affects men today. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, more than 1.2 million new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed globally in 2008. There are many pieces of research that have shown that physical activity which has an influence on a wide range of biological processes like anti-inflammatory and insulin pathways can be linked to lower risk of prostate cancer.

According to the research done by Harvard which was published in European Urology, it shows that men that engaged most frequently in vigorous activity over the length of the study have 30% lower risk of developing advanced prostate cancer when it is compared with men that have exercised the least during the study. This research shows that it is important for men to be physically active as it can help to prevent prostate cancer.
