Prostate cancer and diet. What is the relationship between prostate cancer and diet?

Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer that affects men today with over 1.2 million new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed globally in 2008 according to research.

There are many studies that show that countries, where men eat a typical “Western” diet that contains a large amount of meat have an incidence of prostate cancer like the aggressive prostate cancer, is higher than in countries where plant-based foods are the main components of their diet.

A study done by Harvard to know the relationship between diet and prostate cancer shows that men with prostate cancer can easily sustain a healthier eating pattern but there was no significant effect on the Men’s Eating and Living (MEAL) diet on two-year clinical progression among men that are on active surveillance for prostate cancer.
