Types of stomach cancer
Stomach cancer causes over 700,000 deaths in the world each year and the American Cancer Society also estimates that 22,220 cases that are diagnosed in the United States in the year 2014, up to 10,990 died. The stomach cancer is predominant in elderly people and the major cause of infection is the bacterium Helicobacter Pylori and other causes are smoking, inherited cancer syndromes, geography, and ethnicity.
Four types of stomach cancers have been identified by the researcher based on the shared mutations and other molecular abnormalities. They are Tumors containing the Epstein-Barr virus, Tumors with malfunctioning DNA, chromosomally unstable tumors, and genomically stable tumors.
